In 1947, painter and printmaker Steve Wheeler published a book of his serigraphs titled "Hello Steve." Wheeler was involved in all stages of the production of the prints. The book, which includes 13 prints and a frontispiece, reflects his unique blending of Cubist, Surrealist, and Native American motifs, as well as examples of his fantastic, cryptic typography. It includes an illuminating essay written by the artist under the pseudonym Adam Gates.
Printed in an edition of approximately 150, these 36-page books consist of serigraphs and letterpress on various Scholosser wove papers. They measure 10½" x 13½". A limited number are still available.
The prints are also available separately as limited editions. Please contact Barbara Hollister for availability of books and prints.
